After making the NFL’s Pro Bowl following his first season as a starter, Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor is getting plenty of publicity. And rightfully so.

T-Mobile probably just got done kickin’ it VIP style with @NewEraCap, but yesterday the explosive signal caller hosted a Reddit Ask Me Anything session. Here are some highlights of him answering all sorts of football and not-so-football related questions in his interaction with the fans:

Who was your idol QB growing up?

“My favorite QB growing up of course would probably be Michael Vick being that we grew up in the same area. We grew up probably 7 minutes from each other. I watched a lot of him at Virginia Tech.”

Are you good friends with any quarterbacks in the league?

“As far as being friends with other quarterbacks in the league, yes, I’m friends with a number of guys. Cam Newton is a friend of mine, Colin Kaepernick too. There are a couple different guys that came out of my class and guys that I’ve met over the years – we’ve kept a strong relationship.”

How hard is it really to see over your linemen? Does that significantly block your view of your receivers or is it not a huge deal?

“Not a huge deal at all. People always make a big point about short quarterbacks having a hard time seeing over the line, but if you have a 6’4 quarterback and a 6’5 lineman, he can’t see over it either, so you find ways to throw in-between lanes. You gotta find passing lines as far as stepping up and moving the pocket, but height has never hindered me as far as seeing down the field. And I’m not the shortest quarterback in the league.”

How exactly do you work on improving anticipation and awareness? Is that based on trust with the receivers more, or trust in the scheme more? Or both?

“As far as the trust factor, definitely trusting your receivers, knowing the defenses, knowing the holes in defenses, but also trusting your guys and allowing them to go out there and make plays. And that comes within, like you said, trusting the offensive scheme as well. The more familiar you’re with it, the more you can be on the same page with your receivers.”

How do you put yourself in a position to be successful?

“You put yourself in a position to be successful through dedication and hard work towards a goal. Definitely set goals each year. I still do the same thing and I work each and every day towards that goal. Whether you need to write it down, or put it on your phone in your notes- just something that you can see on a daily basis to remind you why you do it, and what you’re doing it for.”

What does it mean to you to be first Bills QB since Drew Bledsoe in 2002 to make Pro Bowl?

“To be the first QB to make the Pro Bowl since 2002 is definitely something that stands out in my mind, something that I worked for. It’s my first year starting, but I’ve been in the league a couple of years now, so it’s definitely something that I’ve worked towards.”

Hey, Tyrod what has been your favorite nickname?

“My favorite nickname? T-Mobile.”

What would be your best life advice?

“Don’t dwell on the past. Learn from it, move on, and keep your eyes focused forward. Never look in the rear view mirror. That was like three different things that I heard right there, but I think you get the point—don’t dwell on the past.”

Who ya got, Panthers or Broncos?

“I’m gonna go with the Panthers on this one. Should be a very good game. Both defenses are very good, but as far as putting up points I think Carolina will do a better job than Denver.”
